How Do I Report A Crime or Suspicious Activity?
In an emergency, dial 911 for police, fire, or medical help; or from a campus phone, dial extension 5555 and you will be connected to a public safety officer. For non-emergency assistance please call the previously listed numbers. We encourage you to contact us should you need service or information. We strongly urge you to report any and all suspicious activity. Thefts and property damage are the most common types of crimes, however, it is always important to remember that we are part of a larger community. A vigilant campus community helps to insure that we maintain a safe environment.

How Do I Request an Escort?
Public safety officers provide escorts on campus. Just dial 5555 from a campus phone to request an escort. Typically escorts are provided during the evening hours to students, faculty, and staff.

Where Can I Park My Car?
Parking lots are designated as permit only lots or general use lots, depending on their location within the campus. The centrally located lots are generally considered permit only. A valid parking permit allows parking in these lots on a first come, first served basis. Permits are available from the Department of Public Safety during business hours only, and may be purchased annually.

What is the Mills Shuttle? Where Does it Go?
The Mills shuttle runs seven days a week during the academic year between Mills College and UC Berkeley (Sproul Plaza). Mills students ride the shuttle for free as this is included in their student comprehensive fee, but must show their valid Mills ID issued by Housing Management and Dining Services. Non-Mills students must purchase a ticket in advance and present the ticket before boarding. Tickets can only be purchased during the semester Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the Cashier‘s window in Sage Hall. Drivers do not sell tickets or carry cash. Check the shuttle schedule for the most current information.

Disaster Preparedness
Please refer to your handbook on earthquake and disaster resources. Remember, in an emergency, always try to remain calm and to protect yourself and those around you.
