Health Programs FAQ

Student Health Insurance Requirements

All Mills students must carry health insurance or public coverage (such as Medi-Cal or Medicare) that meets the minimum requirements of the Affordable Care Act. 

Enrolling in or Waiving Coverage: 

All students who are eligible for health insurance must enroll in or waive coverage once a year, every summer, during Open Enrollment. Alternate coverage guidelines/ waiver guidelines are here. Find out about enrolling/waiving health insurance here.

Vera Whole Health Center
All students are encouraged to use the on-campus Vera Whole Health Center. The health center is staffed by physicians, a licensed vocational nurse, a health coach and a receptionist from Vera Whole Health who provide services (CPM 117) Monday through Friday during the academic year. Vaccinations
Mills College does not require students to demonstrate specific vaccination coverage, but recommends that all students—and particularly those of traditional college age—are current on all vaccinations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Find out more here.
