Note Taker Hiring Process

Student Employment Requirements

1) Fill out application for student employment on Handshake. Please fill out the entire form and contact sass@mills.edu if you have any questions.

2) After completing your application in Handshake you will also be required to complete the note taker training in order to be considered for a note taker position if you did not do so last year. You will need to take the online note taker training course at PEPNET Note Taker Training. Once you've completed the training, print out the certificate and attach to student employment application, along with the copy of your current unofficial transcripts verifying your GPA is 3.0 or above. This packet should be dropped off at the Cowell front desk. You will be able to log one hour for this training on your timesheet for pay during your first pay period, if you are hired as a note taker.

3. You must have a W-4 and I-9 along with other required forms as outlined by career services and payroll for all student employee positions, including a student note taker payroll agreement on file with the payroll office before beginning work. You will need to provide your original driver’s license or social security card as verification of identity.

Getting Paid/Completing Hiring Process

If hired, you will be notified via email to come by the Cowell building to sign the Note taker Responsibilities Agreement and Student Note Taker Payroll Agreement which will need to be signed and taken to the payroll office. You will also receive a time sheet schedule and payment options at that time.
