Student Health Insurance Requirements

All Mills students must carry health insurance or public coverage (such as Medi-Cal or Medicare) that meets the minimum requirements of the Affordable Care Act. 

Enrolling in or Waiving Coverage 

All students who are eligible for health insurance must enroll in or waive coverage once a year, every summer during open enrollment. Learn more about how to enroll in or waive health insurance coverage

Health Insurance for International Students

All international students must enroll in our Mills Student Health Insurance Plan. For more information including rates and billing, please see Healthcare for International Students

Student Health Resources

Vera Whole Health Center 

All students are encouraged to use the on-campus Vera Whole Health Center. The health center is staffed by physicians, a licensed vocational nurse, a health coach, and a receptionist from Vera Whole Health. Services are available in the Cowell Building,  Monday through Friday, during the academic year.

Vaccinations

Mills College does not require students to demonstrate specific vaccination coverage but recommends that all students—and particularly those of traditional college age—are current on all vaccinations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control
