Mills College Cyclones Earn Highest GPA Among College Swimming Coaches Association of America Teams

Oakland, CA–July 23, 2015 Mills College Cyclone swimmers have been awarded the Scholar All-America Team Award from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). The award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This year more than 600 teams, representing 406 institutions, received the designation.

In the 2015 spring semester, the Mills swim team earned a cumulative GPA of 3.72, which was the highest GPA among CSCAA schools across all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) divisions, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

The Mills team has been recognized repeatedly for its strong success in the pool and in the classroom. Mills College boasts a tradition of excellence for its intercollegiate athletics program—both athletically and academically.
