First-Year Students | Transfer Students | Eligibility Requirements
All full-time, first-year students for the fall semester who submit a completed admission application and Free for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the appropriate deadline will be considered for the merit, merit- and need-based, and need-based scholarships described below. Eligible full-time and part-time first-year students will be considered for the Osher Reentry Scholarship.
Mills scholarships are disbursed directly to a student's account electronically in two separate payments. If all disbursement requirements have been met, the first disbursement is made at the start of the fall semester, and the second disbursement is made at the start of the spring semester.
A limited number of Mills scholarships are available for students who apply for spring admission.

Candidates are selected based on financial need and merit from a competitive pool based on prior GPA, leadership ability, and/or significant contribution to previous colleges or community. |

In addition to merit and merit- and need-based scholarships, Mills offers scholarships based on demonstrated financial need. Eligibility for need-based scholarships is determined through the financial aid process, including submission of the FAFSA and, if needed, the Cal Grant GPA Verification Form for California residents only.

To be considered for need-based scholarships, all students must submit their FAFSA by March 2 and demonstrate financial need. New students must have a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate or have completed high school education in a homeschool setting approved under state law. Continuing students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Priority for Mills scholarship funding is give to students who meet the published financial deadlines for students who are applying for admission to Mills or continuing Mills students.
