ID Creation Instructions for Online Students

A Mills ID is issued to each Mills student. Students are encouraged to email ID photos (in a .jpg format) to housing@mills.edu by 31 July for the fall semester or by the end of the first week of January for the spring semester. If you want your preferred name on your ID card you must make sure your preferred name is registered with the M center before the above deadlines. If you meet all deadlines, your ID card will be sent to you in the mail by Admissions.

When emailing a photo for your ID card, please keep in mind:

Photo must be a close-up with your face and neck clearly visible (no hats or sunglasses).
This image will be the first impression many Mills employees (professors, Public Safety, etc.) will have of you; please select it accordingly.
Photo must be a baseline/standard (not "progressive") .JPG file.
.JPG file name must be changed to your Banner ID number (example: B00XXXXXX.jpg)

ID Creation and Move-In Instructions

A Mills ID is issued to each Mills student after clearing their student account and arrival on campus during Orientation. Students are encouraged to email ID photos (in a .jpg format) to housing@mills.edu by 31 July for the fall semester or by the end of the first week of January for the spring semester. If you want your preferred name on your ID card you must make sure your preferred name is registered with the M center before the above deadlines. By sending your image in advance you will avoid waiting in line to have your picture taken during Orientation. You will also facilitate the printing of your AC Transit EasyPass card, which you should then be able to pick up during Orientation instead of having to wait three weeks after Orientation.

When emailing a photo for your ID card, please keep in mind:

Photo must be a close-up with your face and neck clearly visible (no hats or sunglasses).
This image will be the first impression many Mills employees (professors, Public Safety, etc.) will have of you; please select it accordingly.
Photo must be a baseline/standard (not "progressive") .JPG file.
.JPG file name must be changed to your Banner ID number (example: B00XXXXXX.jpg).

After clearing their student accounts with the M Center each semester (by paying in full or creating an approved payment plan and making their first payments), students must complete the steps outlined below to pick up their Mills ID card and, if applicable, to pick up housing keys. For information about clearing your student account please contact:
