Course Description

ARTS 180J
Art and Performance as Political Expression
January

In this class we will explore the use of creative expression as forms of political activism from the 1960s to the present. We will consider a diverse representation of artistic political expression to consider their: 1) intersections with liberation theory; 2) systems of deployment; 3) forms and mediums; and, 4) impacts on political discourses.
