International Study

Does the idea of exploring another country's culture excite you? If so, Mills has special arrangements with more than 20 institutions that offer outstanding international study Study Abroadopportunities to enhance your learning.

Spending a college semester or year studying abroad offers you an unparalleled opportunity to experience another culture, develop skills in another language, or explore a subject in its native land. Imagine studying art in Florence, Italy, or wildlife ecology in Kenya.
The Mills International Study Program is designed for students who wish to explore academic and cultural life in Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America, or Africa. We encourage you to apply to programs that will add both excitement and depth to your major area of study.
Student Testimonials
"The SIT diaspora studies program incorporated styles of learning I had never been exposed to. It combined traditional in-class lectures with informal learning experiences. We had field excursions in which we went to archaeological sites for lectures, and we had the opportunity to sit at the feet of elders who told us first hand accounts of rebellion against slavery. Everyone told me that studying abroad would change my life and the way I see the world. I just had no idea how profound that change would be."
Breonna Cole, School for International Training in Ghana

"Studying abroad is disorienting, but as a result of this disorientation, you really get to find out who you are. The reality is discomforting, but ultimately, it is the best tool in helping you discover how strong you can be. You will amaze yourself at how well you can adapt to foreign surroundings. It's a challenge all of us need to take on—at least once in our lifetimes."
Anna Sacramento, Academic Programs Abroad in Montpellier

"During my study abroad experience, I was trained by professional actors and studied every aspect of theater, from Shakespearean plays to armed combat for the stage. I experienced what it is like to study and take time to perfect the craft you love the most in the world."
Jelana Woodward, Marymount London College program
