ST: Breaking the Sound Barrier: New Directions in Twenty-First Music Research

This course meets once every two weeks for two hours. Students are invited to join Department Head, Nalini Ghuman, and Professor David Bernstein in a new course which explores exciting developments at the forefront of twenty-first century music research. Central to the course is a series of guest lectures by some of today’s most innovative scholars and creative artists. Each guest presentation will be followed by a group discussion during which we will consider the cutting-edge issues in improvisation studies, musicology, music theory, and composition presented by our guest.
