ENG 233
Short-form nonfiction: features, reviews, op-eds and blogs
Fall

A literature-based craft course engaging with a variety of short nonfiction forms. This may include features, book reviews, op-eds and blogs. The emphasis will be on the melding of voice with fact-based reporting. Students will analyze and try their hands at a variety of fact-based articles and essays, with an emphasis on mastering structure. The course will include in-class discussion of original material, with strong emphasis on self-criticism and revision. Offered every other year beginning 2018-19.
