ENG 206
Medieval Romance
Fall

This course deconstructs the term "romance," exploring some of its decidedly "unromantic" concerns, such as the construction of categories of race, class, and gender, and the consolidation of national identity. Authors may include: Andreas Capellanus, Jean de Meun, Chrétien de Troyes, the Pearl-Poet, Chaucer, Malory, and Marie de France.
Offered every other year beginning 2020-21.
