Course Description

ENG 200
Writing and Research for Graduate Students in English
Fall

This course is designed to help MA and MFA students become skilled writers of seminar papers, conference papers, reviews, abstracts, proposals, and long critical essays, all forms of writing required for an advanced degree in English. For each genre and mode, students will study and practice its constituent parts: research, analysis, summary, close reading, integration of evidence, citations, development of a sustained argument, and dialogue with a community of scholars. Students are welcome to work on content from other courses, theses, and personal projects.
