Writing Support Consultations

Appointments last for 45 minutes. You may schedule up to two sessions each week, but they must be on two different days. Students with letters on file with Student Access and Support Services (SASS) or who are English language learners may sign up for one full hour.

If you have not made an appointment and would like to “drop in,” you’re welcome to do so as long as there are no scheduled appointments and extra staff members are available.

Contact the LAB in advance if you have issues related to mobility and need assistance with getting to your appointment.

How to Make an Appointment

You can schedule an appointment using our online service Accudemia. The login/password information is the same as your Mills Resource Portal.

If you get an error message, please reset your password. Click on "Forgot your password?" and follow the instructions for resetting your password.

You will receive an email from Accudemia to confirm your appointment. Note that the appointment is not confirmed until you receive this email.  Shortly thereafter, the tutor with whom you made the appointment will email you with the location of the appointment: Office of Learning, Advising, and Balance; Library; or Cowell.

Please apply for appointments online two days ahead of the requested appointment day. Sunday appointments made online must be applied for no later than the previous Friday at noon.

Appointment Cancellation Policies

  • Should you need to cancel your appointment, please call 510.430.3360 or email thelab@mills.edu 24 hours in advance.
  • If you're more than 10 minutes late, the tutor may cancel your appointment.
  • Upon three missed appointments, you’ll forfeit appointment privileges; you may still drop-in but not reserve appointments for the remainder of the semester.
