Student Access and Support Services (SASS) provides test proctoring services, by appointment and on a space-available basis, for registered SASS students.
Remember: it is your responsibility as a student to communicate with your faculty regarding exam accommodations and scheduling.
You must be a registered SASS student and meet specific criteria. If you are not yet registered with SASS make an appointment by calling 510.430.2130 or come to the Cowell Building front desk and schedule with the receptionist.
The Testing Center is located in Sage Hall room 118, near the Cashier’s Office.
The Testing Center is open 9:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Any exams must be completed during these hours.
The Testing Center is equipped to provide the following exam accommodations: extended time; distraction-reduced space; use of computer for word processing; large print materials; magnifying equipment; adjustable desks; readers and scribes.
Please note that an accommodation for distraction-reduced space does not guarantee a private room. During busy times of the semester, such as midterms and finals, you may be scheduled in a room with two to three other students.
If you require a reader and/or scribe for an exam, let the Testing Center know at email@example.com at least a week in advance so we have sufficient time to ensure staffing.
Log into Mills Resource Portal.
Select "Student Personal Information."
Select "Student Accommodation Disabilities Request."
Current course schedule and accommodations will appear.
Scroll to courses and enter information for each exam by selecting "Make Reservation."
Once you submit the exam accommodation request, it will be sent to your faculty for approval. It is your responsibility to follow up with your faculty and make sure they approve your request in a timely manner.
After your faculty approves the request, you will receive a reservation confirmation email, and the Testing Center will schedule your room and accommodations.
You will check in with the Proctor at the Testing Center reception desk. The Proctor will confirm the details of your reservation. There are lockers available to store your personal items while you are taking the exam. You are welcome to bring snacks, drinks, and medications into the testing room with you. When you are finished with the exam, turn it in to the Proctor at the reception desk. Testing Center staff will return the completed exam to your faculty.
