At Mills, we strive to make a variety of affordable, eco-friendly modes of transportation available to students, faculty, and staff.
A significant proportion of the students attending Mills commute to classes from off-campus, so we encourage and provide incentives to use modes of transportation with reduced environmental impact, for students, faculty, and staff.
Mills operates a shuttle free to Mills students, faculty, and staff that runs seven days a week between Mills College and UC Berkeley. Please see the shuttle schedule for more information. Additionally, all students receive an AC Transit EasyPass. AC Transit's EasyPass program provides Mills College students with an AC Transit bus pass that is valid at any time on all AC Transit lines. See the Mills Safety and Transportation page FAQ for more information.
The Mills Carpool Network is an online platform for the Mills community to match commuters with similar arrival and departure times and locations. To find carpool options and learn more, go to the Mills Resource Portal and click on "The Mills Carpool Network" under myMills Resources.
Mills also provides incentives for drivers of low-emission vehicles, including priority parking at premium locations on campus and seven solar-powered electric vehicle chargers. To reduce vehicle emissions even further, Mills enforces a no-idling policy, which prohibits a vehicle from idling for more than one minute under normal weather conditions. The full policy can be reviewed here.
Mills is deeply engaged in the planning process for neighborhood street improvements, including the promotion of new pedestrian and bike lanes. On campus, Mills provides secure bike rooms in many of its residence halls and outdoor bike racks across campus. See our bike parking map to find an outdoor rack. Members of the Mills community can borrow bike tools from the F. W. Olin Library at no charge by asking the front desk for the bike tool kit.
If you have an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, you can find available charging stations on plugshare.com.
